In 2010 VMFÂ bought a 2.5kw fiber laser. At the time this was cutting edge technology and we were leading the way in the sheet metal manufacturing industry. We were competitive with our times and were able to provide better prices for our customers. As time went on and lasers became more powerful, we realized that we need to make a change to stay ahead of our competition. We were losing jobs because companies with better and faster lasers were beating our times. To stay competitive we had to have little to no margins. We were falling behind and need to do make a change so we can grow. We started the search for a new laser. We knew we needed something that would stand the test of time and something that would propel us to the front of the industry. Months and months of research led us to the Eagle 20kw fiber laser. Our current fiber laser has a 5’x10′ bed and this one has a 6.5’x13′ bed. We have a .25″ thick part that takes our current laser 9min to cut, this new eagle laser will cut it in 9 seconds.
Problem: Many people in the sheet metal market look at our prices and wonder where we make up for the margins we have. In order to stay competitive with today’s technology and to grow, we need a laser that is more powerful and that will allow us to be faster than today’s lasers.
The Solution: VMF has invested in a 20kw Eagle fiber laser which will double or triple our throughput. This will allow us to compete with companies like APW, who has the same
VMF will provide our customers better service. This is the first 20k laser in the area, making for faster cutting times and higher quality. We have upgraded our services so that we can keep up with the tough cuttings our customers present us everyday – saving them time and money.
We are proud to announce that VMF has upgraded from a 2.5kw laser to a 20kw fiber laser known as the Eagle 20kw . This new laser will help us better serve our customers and become a leader in our industry. This new machine is going to help us provide jobs for all of our employees and allow us to grow as a company.
